 “CRI ADX™” and “CRI Sofdec™”, middleware for games developed by CRI Middleware Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Director & COO: Takashi Nozawa) is used in “Soul Calibur® II,Ea game application that will be released on March 27th by NAMCO Limited (Head office: Ohta-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kushiro Takagi).

 The middleware products that “Soul Calibur® IIE has selected for the title use are “CRI ADXEEachieving a multi-stream sound system, and “CRI SofdecEEa high video/audio quality movie system.  Utilized in the title simultaneously released for 3 platforms for the first time in the world, it has been proven that our middleware helps game development targeted for multi-platform.

 In the past, proceeding game development for multi-platforms caused problems to developers such as high cost due to long-term development or complicated management since they had to examine and select appropriate middleware and tools for each platform.  CRI has achieved developing middleware that provides universal APIs against such platforms as “NINTENDO GAMECUBE,E“PlayStation(R)2,Eand “Xbox,Especialized in "multi-stream playback of audio and sound effect", "encoding/playing back movies," and "file access scheme".  With this solution, problems mentioned above can be avoided.
