Facilitator: As the last question, what value does middleware have for game creators?
Obama: Yes, let's see.Basically, middleware is like a black box to me, so I was concerned that I might not be able to react to problems quickly enough if they were to occur. But once I tried using it, this wasn't a problem at all.

I got married recently, and I guess the process of using middleware can be likened to single versus married life. Before I got married, I had various worries and concerns, but once I was married, I felt supported in many different ways, and it worked out. So in that sense, middleware is kind of like a life partner.... (Laughs.)
Facilitator: What do you think, Mr. Yotoriyama?
Yotoriyama: As I said before, I did gymnastics for a very long time. The thing about gymnastics is that it's only possible because of the people that stand beside you - the assistants. In that sense, I think of middleware as an assistant. If something dangerous is about to happen, the assistant rushes to your aid. If you're attempting a very difficult maneuver, then you most certainly require an assistant. Because without one, you won't feel safe, and you can't perform at your best.

So middleware is an unseen assistant that helps every step of the "performance", that is the entire process of game creation - from game planning and production, to quality improvements and delivery.
Oshimi: We here at CRI wish to continue to be an active assistant in your efforts to create wonderful games and we're looking forward to working with you in the future. Thank you very much for your time today.
